What's Next? - Book
On this site, I have only outlined my economics ideas. I have left many questions unanswered. While I don’t have answers to all the questions that remain, I have thoughts about many of them. I will expand on them in the book I am writing. Turning ideas into action is a difficult process. It will take time for people to develop ideas like mine into a workable system. It will take even more time for new ideas to be accepted publicly and implemented. It is likely to be a long process.
I believe that since economics affects everyone, a book presenting a vision for a new kind of economy should be understandable by a wide audience.
I intend to write in plain English, avoiding technical terms. I am not going to use formulas and graphs to make my points. Economics is about how we work together to make the things we need. If the book gets too technical, it will probably stop being about people working in the real world.
Non-fiction books are usually sold to publishers before they are written. For publishers to be interested, there needs to be an audience for the book. I started working on this web site as a publicity tool. If a lot of people visit this site, a publisher can have faith that there is a market for the book.
As it turns out, writing the material for this web site has helped me sharpen my arguments. I am beginning to get feedback on my ideas too. The feedback that visitors to my site give me will help me strengthen my book. I will focus on issues that visitors find most interesting or troubling.
You can help this process by telling your friends about this site and passing on links. The more people are involved, the more feedback I will get to improve these ideas and the more support I will have to convince publishers to publish my book.
