New posting philosophy.

My strategy of posting weekly hoping to give people time to comment on posts isn’t working. I’m going to return to more frequent posts. Probably not every week day like before. I’ll try every other day or so to see how that works out.

I’m also going to try using a lot more headings. The idea is to make my posts easy to skim read. This will hopefully make it easier for people to quickly get the gist of a post so that they can decide if they want to read it more carefully. I’m doing this because I have found that I like posts where the main points are highlighted.

Have you considered social networking? Facebook/Twitter to help grow readership? Or collaborate with some other similar blogs like a guest post?

One thing that would help for me is some mechanism to see where there are new comments. This would make it easier for discussions to develop on older postings.

    Nate.

I think I will look into doing more guest posts.

    Eric.

By ticking the box underneath comments next to “Notify me of follow-up comments via email,” you can follow comments on posts that you have commented on. Of course, the email updates may be annoying. I think what you are looking for is a way to see new comments when you visit the blog.

I don’t think blog software is typically designed to do that. I would have to use bulletin board software. I’ll think about it.
