Not-for-profit Producers

My solution to the problem of how to connect the prices of goods and services to the cost of producing them is to make producers not-for-profit organizations. I have discussed this in the economics section of my website. Over the weekend, I’m going to look into how not-for-profit organizations are regulated. I think this will address some of the questions Eric asked in comments on my post Logic rules price controls must satisfy.
Perhaps if I get a better understanding of the rules not-for-profit groups follow today, I will be able to elaborate on how not-for-profit producers could be set up. I need to make sure that there isn’t anything special about businesses that produce things like toothbrushes that would break the not-for-profit model.
